DIY - How To Replace Your 2006-2012 Ford Fusion Interior Door Handle




Step 1: Gather the tools and parts you will need.

Tools:
#20 torx head screwdriver, "U" blade door panel remover, and 7mm socket.
These tools can be found at your local Auto Parts store.


Parts: Pick the 2006 to 2012 Fusion door handle application(s) that you need.

Step 2: Remove the cover on the door handle trim and remove the torx head screw.

Step 2: Remove torx screw

Step 3: Remove the bolt inside the door pull that holds the trim for the window and mirror switches.

Step 4: Lift the door pull and window switch trim from the door panel.

Step 5: Carefully unplug the window and mirror switches, or remove the trim.

Step 6: Carefully unplug the lock switch from the door handle trim.

Step 6: Unplug lock switch from door handle trim

Step 7: Carefully remove the door panel using a door panel remover. Clips are spread around the door panel, including the top. Roll down the window for easier access.
The number of clips used varies by model year.
Be very careful with your clips for they may break.

Step 7: Remove the door panel

Step 8: Remove the single bolt that holds the door handle in place.

Step 9: Remove the lock cable from the door handle
The lock must be in the UNLOCK position to do so.

Step 9: Remove the lock cable from the door handle

Step 10: Place the lock cable into the new handle.
The lock must be in the UNLOCK position to do so.

Step 11: Put the door back together in the reverse order and enjoy your new door handle.
